Sissy....yappy little terror.......
Good Evening Family and Friends, wherever you are,
Has this been a day, or what? That was actually a rhetorical question because you wouldn't really know how to answer it, so let me just tell you that this has been some kinda day and I am going to sleep so well tonight....hopefully in bed with Mommy and Daddy. I don't think my heart could take much more, so I'll feel safer with them. They have a queen sized bed, so they don't need all of it, right?? They could share......I know it's hot, and I make them hotter, and I get black hair all over the sheets, but come on! I've had a bad day and I need some comfort!
We'll go back to this morning when I was out with my Mommy taking a walk......and along comes this nice lady and man with their dog......at least I think it's a dog.....she's nine weeks old and she's the runt of the litter.....did I spell that right, Aunt Ginny???.....and her name is George. Don't ask. Weird people. Anyhow, she's a terrier of some kind and she's very cute but wow, is she small! I mean, she fit right into Mommy's hand.....and then she put her nose to mine, I imagine to say hi, and barked!! And it scared the beejeezus out of me and I yanked on the leash and took off for home with Mommy trailing behind yelling at me....."Stop"....."Stop"..... I did, as soon as I got back to the camper. Mommy was breathing hard......good exercise for her. I guess George's parents rescued her from Mommy's hand once I gave her a good yank......poor little dog. Not gettin' near her again. Nope.
Then, we went over to Uncle Patrick's and he has this little miniature Greyhound and another dog, Sissy.....miniature dachound. I got out of the truck and all of a sudden, these two little yapping whirlwinds come at me and back me right up to the truck. Soooo, what's a girl to do? I got back in and wouldn't get out. What kind of a welcome is that?? They don't know how to treat visitors down here in the south. At home, we just do the circle dance, sniffin' each others' butts, and voila! We're friends! That's what Lilly and I did at Uncle Peter's and we're great friends now. But man.....here? No manners.
So, after awhile, Mommy and Daddy were done visiting for the day.....they're awfully busy over there getting ready for the big wedding tomorrow......and we came back to the campground. It's a KOA and it's right off the main road, so it's not very quiet. But Mommy and I went for a walk and something, don't know what it was, but something, spooked the hell out of me and I took off for home......yanked the leash right out of Mommy's hand so it clunked on the road and whacked a nice, shiny BMW that was sitting there, then broke into several pieces.....and I ran with it trailin' behind me, making a terrible racket. Mommy yelled for Daddy and he caught me as I came around the camper......man, was I scared!! My little heart was goin' triple time! And here comes Mommy, chuggin' along....second run of the day!! Good exercise.
So, Daddy went back to see if any damage was done to the BMW and didn't find any. I went up on the bed and wouldn't come down for an hour. Only the promise of a cookie could get me to come down. I'd do just about anything for a cookie. I sit pretty. I shake. I give a high five. I used to be able to roll over, but I'm out of practice on that one. Harder to do now, anyhow, with all this weight on. I'm up to 96 pounds and need to lose a little. Some of you out there can relate. Sorry, that wasn't nice.......chalk it up to one helluva day, OK?
Hope you had a better one than I. I love you all.
Juni
Hope you're all safe from the storms.
ReplyDeleteBatten down the hatches!
Juni, when you get to St. Louis and meet me, Charlie Brown, a/k/a C.B., please give me a little time to get acquainted. I am not a yapper like the other friends you have been meeting along your trip. In fact, despite all the love and attention I get from my mom and dad, I'm still quite a timid soul until I get to know you. My prior life spent in a cage for 4-1/2 months did something to my psyche and has made me very timid. However, once I get to know you all, I will smother you with love and affection. Love to you all, C.B.
