Good Evening, Family and Friends wherever you are, Well, here we are in good ol’ HOT Georgia and I am reminded of the list I made last year after having been here for several days: Do NOT move south if: You have a heavy, healthy coat of long black hair. You have an allergic reaction to high volumes of spring pollen. Seeing old people on every street corner, in every car, at every dog park, in every place you go bothers you. (This is more evident in Florida than in Georgia.) You no longer want to chase squirrels, even though you know you can’t catch them. There are just so many temptations. You do not like being on a leash all the time. At home, I am seldom on a leash. You are at all bothered by gnats, gnits, noseeums, fire ants, cockroaches, termites, or carpenter bees. You prefer large friends over yapper wannbes. Daddy had a comment for this one, but I don’t want to hurt Mommy’s feelings so I won’t repeat it. Anyhow, it was really cool when we left this morning….61 degrees, and foggy. The picture of the Tennessee River is pretty gray because of the fog. This is another really messy state with lots of litter along the roadside. There were also several dead coyotes, a couple of deer, and a gazillion dead tires. I didn’t take any pictures of those….disgusting. We had one small bit of excitement this morning when we stopped for ……..fuel……mostly it’s $3.89 9/10 - $3.99 9/10 down here. The 9/10 bit is crazy, like we don’t know it’s really four dollars. Geeesshhh. But they do this all over the country, not just here. Anyhow, we got off of the interstate to go to a gas station that said it had…..diesel…..but it didn’t, so we had to go on down the street a ways to one that did….but oh man, it was a tight fit. Daddy had to get out and change the camper holder thing in the back of the truck so that he could make a sharper turn without putting it through the back window. Then he had to back up and pull forward, back up and pull forward….and he finally got it lined up to the one and only ….diesel…..pump. Whew! Mommy and I got out to go wee wee and I stepped right in some …..diesel….that had been poured onto the ground by mistake. At least, we assumed it was a mistake knowing what it cost! I got it all over my paws and Mommy got it on her sneakers…which were already pretty dirty from the truck stop and the mud puddle….remember? Daddy was not pleased, but we tried to wipe it off on the grass and then Mommy wiped my paws with some paper towels, so we were OK in the end. Daddy would not share his stickie bun, so I sulked for awhile after that. We finally made it to Uncle Peter’s and got the camper backed into his driveway. Then we went to see Uncle Paul and Aunt Lee, but Aunt Lee was working so we’ll have to go back some other day. I love Aunt Lee. She’s a real dog lover. We stopped to do some grocery shopping on the way back, had supper, went for a walk or two, and went to bed. It got cooler as the night went on…..whew. We have a fan, and an air conditioner, but that costs money, too…..so…..we do use the fan. Hey, hope you all had a wonderful day. Talk to you tomorrow. I love you all. Juni
